Emily Owens, Certified LENS Practitioner

Emily, graduate of Lipscomb University, has enjoyed working as an educator in multiple capacities for more than twenty years. It all started with teaching younger kids to read on the school bus when she was in fifth grade:

“I’ve always loved working with someone one-on-one, helping them unlock their potential.”

Emily began her career as a fourth-grade teacher at White House Christian Academy in White House, Tennessee, shortly after graduating and getting married. The births of her own children soon followed, and she spent some years working part-time as the school librarian and middle school science teacher. The family decided it was time to transition to homeschooling in 2007, the beginning of an incredibly fulfilling adventure. During this time, Emily became certified to teach materials from The Institute for Excellence in Writing and especially loved working with high school students on their grammar and writing. Coordinating and teaching classes for the homeschool community continued until her youngest graduated in 2018.

While her experiences in teaching were very satisfying, she often felt that she was missing a tool to effect change for the many students who lacked motivation, struggled with ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, or had trouble making social connections. As soon as she witnessed the tangible results of Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) therapy, she wanted everyone she knew to be able to try it.

“I love walking alongside people and watching a part of their life story shift as they are able to be their best functional selves: focused and motivated, full of positive energy.”
