LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) is a very gentle and non-invasive treatment option. The nervous system controls everything in the body, so balancing and calming it can be incredibly healing. LENS is gentle enough to be used with infants and is effective throughout life. LENS was developed in the 1990s and has been used across a broad span of conditions and symptoms.

We place small sensors on the scalp to measure brain wave activity. We are looking for patterns of high, normal, or low brain wave activity over the 21 areas of the brain. Graphs will show your information in an easy to understand way, allowing us to see areas that may benefit from LENS therapy. Through a patented process, the information gathered from the brain wave signals is brought back to the brain. This allows the brain to make adaptations as it responds to the information it receives. The brain is brilliantly adaptive and neuroplastic (it can change!) and bringing balance to the brain wave activity often reduces or eliminates symptoms that previously interfered with quality of life.

The follow up treatment sessions are 20-30 minutes and are tailored to the individual needs of each client. We will focus on certain areas of the brain to help improve the overall balance of brainwave activity. For certain types of conditions we also can use the sensors to influence the nervous system in other parts of the body – digestive areas, areas of neuropathy, etc. LENS neurofeedback is allowing the brain to more fully self-regulate. Self-regulation and balance is a necessary part of optimal brain performance and function.

LENS can be combined with other therapies or treatments. We love collaborative care with other practitioners and have seen great benefits in combining LENS with chiropractic, nutrition and detoxification, counseling, exercise and lifestyle changes, massage and others depending on the individual needs. Renew Neurofeedback is overseen by chiropractor Dr. Julie. She is available for further consultation or questions. We are located in a wellness center offering chiropractic, massage, neurofeedback, life-coaching, gym and personal training.
